1
Group meetup at the designated departure point (departures from Senigallia and Ancona; departure times will be communicated at a later date). Board the coach and depart for Termoli. Upon arrival, meet the local guide for a tour of the city, which boasts a beautiful medieval old town perched on a promontory overlooking the Molise coast, a bustling fishing port, and a popular beach. The coastline all the way to the Gargano is dotted with "trabucchi"—traditional wooden fishing platforms built on stilts. Highlights of the tour include the Cathedral, one of Molise's most significant monuments built in the 12th century in a Pisan-Apulian Romanesque style featuring a beautiful Crypt, and the exterior of the Castle with its imposing tower and fortified walls with cylindrical towers, built by Emperor Frederick II to defend the port. Independent lunch. In the afternoon, resume the journey toward Basilicata. Arrival at the resort, room check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

3
Full board with All-Inclusive service at the resort, with free time for various activities or beach relaxation. Full-day excursion to Matera. Meet the local guide and start the tour of the "Sassi di Matera", the ancient neighborhoods carved directly into the tufa rock, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Matera is an open-air museum showcasing historical continuity from the Stone Age to the present day. The Sassi form a mesmerizing labyrinth of alleys, stairways, caves, noble palaces, gardens, and wide terraces, dominated by chimneys and the bell towers of rock-hewn churches. This dense cluster of dwellings creates the atmosphere of a living nativity scene, making it the perfect filming location for major cinematic masterpieces, including Pier Paolo Pasolini’s The Gospel According to St. Matthew and Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ. The tour includes a visit to the Sasso Caveoso district, with entry to the rock church of Santa Lucia alle Malve—the first female monastic settlement of the Benedictine Order dating back to the 8th century and the most important in Matera's history. You will also visit a typical Casa Grotta (Cave House), fully furnished to show the rural peasant lifestyle that continued up until the 1960s. Packed lunch provided by the resort. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to continue exploring Matera independently before returning to the resort in the late afternoon.
Day
4
Full board with All-Inclusive service at the resort, with free time for various activities or beach relaxation. Optional excursion (extra charge) to Metaponto: founded by the Achaeans in the 8th century BC, Metaponto was the main center for the spread of Pythagoras' school of thought and genius. It was allied with Croton (now Crotone) and later with Rome during the war against Pyrrhus (280–272 BC). In 207 BC, it sheltered Hannibal's armies, leading to its devastation by the Romans. The visit to the archaeological site includes the ancient home of Pythagoras, the Temple dedicated to the goddess Hera, and the Tavole Paladine (Palatine Tables)—where 15 of the original 36 columns stand perfectly preserved, representing one of the most significant archaeological sites of Magna Graecia.
Day
5
Full board with All-Inclusive service at the resort, with free time for various activities or beach relaxation. In the morning, enjoy a guided visit to Montescaglioso. Settlement here dates back to the 4th millennium BC; it became a prominent center of Magna Graecia between the 5th and 2nd centuries BC and a major Norman county seat in the Middle Ages. Traces of Greek fortifications and medieval walls are still visible. From the highest point of the town, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over the Bradano Valley, the Gulf of Taranto, and the Rock Churches Park. The surrounding hillsides feature hundreds of hand-carved caves still used for wine storage. We will visit the majestic Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, one of the most imposing monastic complexes in Italy. Return to the resort afterward.

In the afternoon, take a half-day excursion to the ghost town of Craco, one of Italy's most evocative and hauntingly beautiful abandoned villages. In 1963, a landslide forced its inhabitants to relocate to the new town of Craco Peschiera. Today, "Old Craco" stands frozen in time, with its houses clinging to the rock and the Norman tower dominating the highest ridge of the village.

8
Breakfast at the hotel and room check-out. Load luggage onto the coach and depart for the return journey to Senigallia. En route, stop for a guided tour of Melfi, a medieval town famous for being the seat of Emperor Frederick II, where he promulgated the historic Constitutions of Melfi. The town rises majestically on a hill, enclosed by a unique ring of fortified walls, among the finest in Southern Italy. From the Porta Venosina gate, you can admire part of the walls and a stunning view of Mount Vulture. The Norman Cathedral was rebuilt in the 17th century, leaving only the original bell tower intact, standing next to the monumental Bishop’s Palace—one of the most beautiful in Italy. The village is dominated by the spectacular Castle. Built by the Normans, it was later expanded by Frederick II of Swabia, with further towers added by Charles of Anjou and subsequent modifications by the Caracciolo and Doria families. We will visit the National Archaeological Museum housed inside the castle (entrance fee payable on-site). Following the visit, continue the journey back to Senigallia, with optional rest stops along the way.
